The Bell South repair service for Vero Beach, Fl., has got to be among the worst of the worst. I lost the dial tone at my home on Friday afternoon. - called, and was told that a repairman would be here on the next day by 5:00 o'clock. He never came; so I called again, and was told that a repairman would be here on Sunday -which, indeed, he was, in the morning . The repairman worked for a while, said that the problem fixed, and left. The 'fix' lasted about 30 minutes; and then again there was no dial tone. Another phone call, and I was told that a repairman would be here the next day, [Monday] by 5 o'clock - which, again, he was. This time, the repairman worked another short time, and declared the problem to be fixed, and left. When he left, there was no dial tone, but he left anyhow. . Another call to the Bell repair people, and I was told that a repairman would be here by 5 o'clock [Tuesday] This time, the repairman came - after I had called three more times during the day, and was being told that it would now be Wednesday before the repair could be done - and the repair was properly made. So: Friday afternoon, the phone lost dial tone - Tuesday about 4:45, it was restored. Some service !!!
