Chase Auto Finance Need help. I have an automobile lease with Bank One that expired October 15, 2005. Not having received any correspondence regarding the end of my lease term, I contacted Bank One or Chase to request payoff statements. I never received any payoff statements by mail. I never received past due notices, request for payments, etc. Over a three month period, I continued to contact Bank One or Chase but did not get much help. In January 2006, I contact a gentleman named Mark Pratt working out of Tampa. I discussed the option of purchasing the vehicle with Mr. Pratt who informed me that I first needed to make a payment to catch up the account, which at this point was two + months past due. I was informed that once the payment was received, we could continue to discuss purchasing the vehicle. On January 27, 2006, a payment in the amount of $723.56 was received by Chase Auto Finance. The payment cleared my bank account (Citibank). Happy that the payment was finally received and looking forward to purchasing the auto, I was flabbergasted when, on the morning of February 2, 2006, my car was repossessed. A full week after Chase Auto Finance received my payment. Over the next few days I was in constant contact with Chase. The payment was not showing on my account. I sent verification from my bank that the payment was made, received by Chase Auto Finance and cleared my bank account. The payment also had the correct account information and address. As of the writing of this letter (February 7, 2006) the payment still does not show on my account. I am certain that this has occurred due to some computer glitch or internal problems at Chase related to account acquired from Bank One. I can say this with some certainty because customer service representatives often have much difficulty locating my account information, even with the correct account information and social security number. It seems that there is always a problem because my account is a Bank One account. My lease account was a 42 month lease that I maintained in excellent payment status. I need help as I am now faced with a multitude of fees and I am afraid this will negatively impact my credit record.
