Blue Green, a.k.a. Great Vacation Destinations

Great Vacation Destinations, also known as Blue Green Vacations, lies and does not give refunds.

I got a call a couple weeks ago, telling me I had won a trip to Florida, I just had to pay the promotional fee of $698. I was duped, just didn't realize it unfortunately until after I paid. After researching the company, and getting a feeling it's a scam, I decided to cancel my package. When I called to ask for a refund, the man I talked to said it was too soon, I wasn't in the system yet, and I should call back later. I asked him if they could call me when I'm in the system, and he said sure, he would be happy to help. I then called my credit card company, and reduced my limit to $500, so they couldn't put the payment through. Somehow, they still charged me $698. When I realized this, I called the company again to ask for a refund. The girl said to wait until I received the package in the mail, then send a handwritten letter on why I am cancelling. I asked "so then, will I get a refund?" and she said "yes". I did exactly as she said, I wrote them a letter saying I thought it over and really can't afford the vacation, which is true, and they called me today to ask me why I suddenly wanted a refund. No matter what answer I gave them, they were all very rude and would not help me at all. I talked to three employees today, and two other people on other calls. They said the best they could do is extend it for 2 years, only charging me $149 instead of $698. They said they would refund the rest, $524, which they have not done yet, and I fear they never will. I told them at least five times I am never taking this vacation. They said it is "not in their interest to go around refunding people". I read all the literature they gave me, and it was NEVER stated anywhere in their 'terms and regulations' that they do not give refunds. One of the reasons I am cancelling is because they told me on the phone they are BBB members. I checked the BBB Florida website, and they are not members. However, they currently have 107 complaints in the last 3 years. When I told this to an employee, she got very defensive and said "so you're going to believe some website over me?" yes, when it is the official BBB site, and bluegreen is a bunch of liars. This whole thing was a very bad experience, I just want my money back. I know it's only $700, it could be a lot worse, but no one should have to pay for something they will never use. Please do not believe anything this 'company' tells you.

I also attendinded a 90 minute presentation in order to get a 2 day free trip to my choice of Orlando or Las Vegas.

I wasn't interested in buying a time share.

Just went there to hear their spiel.

I frankly said to the presentor, within the 5 minutes of meeting him that I didn't want to waste my time, nor have him waste my time.

Presentator said so many false/misleading things I'm suprised they are still in Business.

I explained there was no way that I was going to sign anything that day and that if I was interested I would take home (a unsigned) copy of the contract to read and if I had any questions my attorney would go over it.

They absolutely REFUSED to let me take home a contract, without first signing it. IF THIS DOESN'T RAISE THE BIGGEST RED FLAG I DON'T KNOW WHAT DOES.

Don't get taken by this company. I did get a certificate for (supposedly-altho it doesn't say "FREE")the trip.

I Think the certificate will go in the trash. There's too many loopholes where they can charge you for things/circumstances beyond one's controlor more likely a planned hidden charge.

Good luck all
