Vonage Vonage is the ABSOLUTE WORSE telephone company out there !! Anyone thinking about switching--------DO NOT DO IT!
I signed up for Vonage on January 10, 2006. I was switching 3 residential telephone numbers to Vonage from Verizon. First, they make you pay up front for the first month's service even though your lines do not get switched from your other phone carrier to Vonage for at least 20 days. This means you are paying 2 companies for at least a month. They send you the routers at a fee of $9.95 shipping. Once you get the router, the service is the absolute worst! Lines do not ring or there is static or there is no service all together. When you attempt to call customer service you get absolutely no where! They are clueless to say the least. They give you the run around and act like they are going to take care of the problem and they don't. They pretend their system is down or they are getting an error in order to delay correcting any issues. If you want to cancel, you have to speak to an accounts manager who tries to convince you to stay. When you are adament that you want to cancel, they give you the run around again either claiming their system won't let them cancel or you need to wait for a return call from a specialist. You cannot return the equipment without a return authorization number which you must get from them when they process the cancellation. I canceled with them on February 2, 2006. I was lied to and said that it was canceled and I would get an email with the RA #'s. After not getting the email, I called again and was given the RA #'s. Even though I have sent the routers back, my lines are so screwed up. They have not released the lines and I cannot make any calls from my lines. This company is such a scam. I have made numerous calls over and over to Vonage and I get the same old runaroun! Even after cancelling, when I check online at their website, it claims my account is still active. No one at Vonage has a clue what they are doing. They are just billing people money for service they dont have or want!
