CIBC Banking services sucks!!!

My daughter and I went to this branch so we can open an account for her. Initially, during the visit, we were not able to get a Convenience card for her because she did not bring her Birth Certificate. All she had at that time was her student ID. So we went home unable to get a card for her. Fine, the second time around my daughter went to the branch with her father. My daughter was going to the mall that day and she wanted to use a Convenience card to make purchases. This time the bank said that since the mother (me) was the one who signed up the paperwork during the account setup that I should be there with her and not the father. Her dad showed them a "true photocopy statement of her live birth" and this was not enough. My daughter should be accompanied by me.

Third visit, I was there to accompany my daughter (just to get this over with). I didn't think opening an account would be this complicated. I am a regular customer, I have several accounts with CIBC including business, chequing, savings, line of credit, CIBC VISA, etc. Alright, we presented to them the "True, photocopy statement of Live birth", I have accompanied her and this time they still would not allow just a "True, photocopy Statement of Live Brith" as a proof to get a "convenience card" for my daughter. They need the actual small birth certificate.

When my husband set up an account for my daughters with Scotiabank, they were not asked to produce any of these paperworks. My husband has a business account with Scotiabank, and the accounts were opened for my two daughters -- NO PROBLEM.

CIBC -- get your processes clearly defined -- and DON'T MAKE IT TOO DIFFICULT!!!! I will never open an account with CIBC. In fact, I will close all my accounts with them. Not that this would make a difference but I don't have time with how they handle business with their clients!!!!
