I own a 2002 Ford f150 supercrew Lariat, bought new in Oct 2001. Starting in Dec 2004 (after the 36 months were up but with only 30,365 miles on the truck) the engine was running rough and the service light came on. After calling Ford they agreed to give me a discount on the repair work and it cost me $60 to have a coil and 2 plugs replaced (original charge was over $400). In January of 2005 the light came on again, this time they repaired whatever was wrong under a recall campaign that I had never received a notice on, but since they didn't charge me anything I was OK with it. In February of 2006, with 41,400 miles, the truck began to run roughly again and the light came on. Thanks to the good folks at Auto Zone they checked the code(s) and said that a least one plug was missfiring (same thing that happened in 2004). I called Ford and asked them for some help with what appears to be a recoccuring problem and they said they would help so they contacted the local Ford dealer who said bring it in and they would check it out and though they wouldn't cover %100 they said there would be a discount. When I brought the truck in I was then told it would cost me $99.95 just to have it checked out and I said I wasn't expecting to be charged just for the checkout and said I would call Ford again. I called Ford and they decided my business current/future wasn't worth $99.95 to them and so I shall have my ford fixed elsewhere and NEVER again consider a ford product for anyone in my family and will certainly convey my experience to all that will listen. Ford doesn't need to wonder why it's losing customers. Poor quality in what they build and lousy customer service after the sale lost them this customer and who knows how many more for a lousy $99.95. Go Figure!
