CIC Credit report online does a great job of swindling people out of their money. You can open a "free trial period" account for 30 days and cancel it before any charges are incurred. However, they do not offer a cancellation confirmation number unless you ask for it. Then when the next month's charges show up on you credit card, you have no way of proving that you indeed cancelled the membership. Pretty much, they're unwilling to help you unless you have this number and they aren't willing to offer it to you in the first place. They are in the business to make money, no matter how they do it.
