candy / ebulk candy web wholesaler

Ebulk candy - web site. Also dba as Hometown Candy.com and Jordon Almonds.com.

I placed a relatively small order with ebulkcandy no Feb 1st, 2006. We give away candy with our

orders as a thank you to our customers. We ordered 5 lbs of various flavors of candy to try them out.

I am very glad we did not place a large order!! Their web site states they ship the same day if orders

are paid for before 3 pm EST. NOT TRUE. I placed it after 3 pm, so assumed they would ship Feb 2.

They also have a shipping locator time estimator. Wow - looks are so deceiving! I was a 3-day ship away

from them. When a full week had passed after I'd paid, I had not heard anything from the company.

No order confirmation, no shipping information, nothing. Thankfully, I had printed out the original order

page, so I had the order numbers assigned to it.

Several emails produced NO response at all. They are all on auto-respond, to give them the look

of authenticity. I called the number on the website, only to get an answering machine. I tried using

the live help on their website (which of course, was not currently online), and left a message.

No response to any of it. The only thing that FINALLY got a response was to send an email with the

header "quote request". Apparently, the opportunity to fleece me again was appealing and worth responding to.

They did respond, with no shipping information, no order confirmation, nothing. Someone named Karen said

she'd have to check with the shipping dept and get back to me a little later that evening. That was Feb 9th.

No response again. I again emailed using the "quote request" header, on Feb 13th, and got a response. This

time, she told me that my order had shipped the prior week, and to let her know if I did not receive it by that

afternoon, Feb 13th. Of course, we did not receive a thing. You cannot receive what was never shipped out in the first place.

I again emailed them, letting Karen know that we had received nothing. After a few more days of this nonsense, I

filed a complaint with their area Better Business Bureau (of which, they are NOT a member). They responded that

day (they amazingly found the time then), to tell me that a credit was being issued that day to my credit card. That

was Feb 17th. We have an account with real-time updating - anything initiated but not completed shows as a pending

transaction. Of course, there was never a refund issued.

As of today, Feb 21, 2006, there still is no refund in our account and no candy received. Their lame excuses that

others say they have received about how they handle thousands of orders a day are ridiculous. If they cannot attend

to each order properly, then they need to stop selling. Their local law enforcement offices should shut them down

for fraud. It is obvious that I am not alone in my experience and in my being out both money and product from this

fake company.

I hope others read through this website before dealing with potential companies with web presence only. I wish I had

known about it first!

Oh yes - this Karen person also said the same thing to us - that the matter was now resolved. It is NOT resolved

until I either have my money back or fresh candy in our possession! I wrote to the BBB to let them know that they

had responded as though they had acted on our complaint, but in fact, had done nothing at all.

Thank you -

Beth M.
