Directv and Dish satelite programming of Fox Southwest

Randy Tweed - OKC

I subscribe to Directv and Tonight, the Oklahoma-Kansas Women's BB game is being broadcast by Fox Southwest. It is advertised and is actually on cable. Directv and Dish (they do the same thing) insist on carrying the Dallas Mavericks feed. The Oklahoma-Kansas game is on the "alternate" channel that I have to subscribe to (their sports package for an extra 8 bucks a month). My best friends daughter plays for Kansas State and I wanted to watch it. Few people in Oklahoma (or Kansas) regardless of zip code cares about the Dallas Mavericks. I am convinced that Dish and Directv do this to increase revenue and subscription rates to their sports package. They should give everyone who has Fox Southwest in their package free access to the alternate channel if they are going to do this. It is bad for marketing at a time they are trying to convince people to switch from cable.
