Walmart / Sams Club / Circuit City

While trying to buy a laptop computer locally rather than on-line these stores either did NOT have items listed on their web pages in stock or didn't have personnel to service their customers in a timely manner. This was after 6 hours of searching the web for the item to fit my needs. GOT STOCK #'S, GOT MFG NAME -- PUT THE BOX IN MY HAND

I tried to stay within certain specifications but no certain brand or mfg. Price range for me was 500 to 800 dollars.

The 2 Walmart stores I called had only 1 of these items in stock between them. The second store said "Don't have many computers in stock, none of what you're looking for and don't know when we'll get some in".

Sams Club carries a number of similar items that I was looking for, but you have to order on-line.

Circuit City had the exact item I was looking for and I talked to a courteous salesman on the phone. The price was good, my wife was in that area so I asked her to pick this up for me. She had the stock number, the mfg. and the price. After waiting a reasonable time she went to the "Service Desk" to get help. She was told that there were 2 salespeople there but they would try to get someone to that department. While waiting, my wife talked to 2 other customers who said they had been there an hour or longer. Due to college classes she couldn't spend that much time waiting. ** She had a classmate with her who was looking to buy a similar computer. 2 SALES LOST------

CONCLUSION: Lack of or poorly trained salespersons who could care less about the

customer or his / her time spent.

NOTE: THIS TYPE OF COMPUTER IS USED BY HIGH SCHOOL and COLLEGE STUDENTS
