Sears Canada My experiece with Sear Canada in Chilliwack, B.C. and Sears Canada appliance repair service is extremely frustrating and disappointing. We purchased our first brand new house in B.C. when moving here from Regina, Saskatchewan. We spent almost $5000 on new appliances for our new home. We were told that our data would be in their computer system and if we ever needed repairs, all we had to do was phone and all the information needed would be available to their customer service department. Well almost two years later it still isn't in their computer system. We purchase a piece of junk in the form of a Kenmore front load washing machine that has been nothing but trouble. There is a family of two people using this machine. It is not being abused. We have had to phone twice to get service for this machine and each time the wait period was over a week. It took almost 30 minutes to provide the repair/customer service department with the information they needed because we "weren't in their system". I have taken the receipt for our appliances down to the Sears store in Chilliwack twice, spoken with managers who have assured me everything is taken care of and today came the discovery that they have no record of our purchase at all. I had a washer and dryer that performed for a family of 4 for 17 years without one service call. Obviously products are not reliable but that creates another cash grab in the form of extended warranties because nothing can be guaranteed for over a year anymore. So here we sit with a washing machine full of water that won't drain or spin until the 24th. Sears doesn't care about its customers or providing customer sevice no matter how much money you spend in their store.
