SST Credit Card

SST Credit Card

Our Providian credit account was sold to Columbus Bank and Trust, who hired SST to service the account. Not only did our interest rate go up obnoxiously, but there accounting is in error. They attempted to draw an on-line payment from the wrong account that prior payment was made from, not the account I specified. One rep. said I called them to apologize and would correct it (I wasn't even aware at that point; that the payment was returned NSF twice from my wife's account, and that the account was then 90 days late. It was 14 days late when payment was made. The reality is that their system did not accept account change information properly (though it told me it did at the time), and now we're likely to have a 90 day late on my wife's credit report. In speaking with their customer service dept., I've received three different versions from three different people on three different occassions, all supposedly reading from the same screen. I've requested voice recording from 3 conversations, as I was told they record all of their calls. Now I was just told that they don't, and that information is not available. Nor is information about what account they actually tried to debit the payment in question from. Incidentally, they claim they tried to debit the account twice, and got nsf's. My bank claims that there was never any attempt to collect the payment amount from any of our accounts. SST is resting on their argument that I punched in the wrong numbers, so it must be my fault. I did not. I think it's high time for some seriou federal regulation over these so called servicing companies. It seems they're just out to collect extra fees.
