I would like to make the public aware of local company

whose business practices are both dishonest and

unethical.

It all began on January 20, when I entered Eurostoves

to host a birthday party for my child, who was then

turning 5. I was given a scenario that a party for 14

children could be held for the price of $399 for 2 1/2

hours. I was also told that the company was planning

to hold parties of a shorter time period of 1 1/2

hours. I told Eurostoves employee Stacey O'Brien that

I would be interested in that type of party. When I

inquired about the price, I was told that it would

cost $30 per child. That amounts to $420 for a party

that is one hour shorter and provides half of the

services. As an educated consumer, I questioned how

this could be justified and was not exactly given a a

straight answer. I scheduled my son's party anyway

for February 12 at 11:00AM and told Stacey that I

would call her when I returned home to pay the deposit

by credit card.

When I called Eurostoves later that evening, I asked

for confirmation of the party prices. It was then

that I was told that Eurostoves had not actually

figured out a price for the 1 1/2 hour party. She

asked if I could wait 3-4 days before paying the

deposit(which would amount to half of the cost of the

party) until the prices were confirmed. I agreed.

When I did not hear back from Eurostoves, I brought my

3 children in to pay the deposit. It was then that

they told me that they gave my party away for not

paying a deposit. I was furious and explained why I

couldn't pay a deposit. They scheduled my son's party

for that day, but at a different time.

February 12 we had a nasty storm. I spoke with Stacey

O'Brien that morning and we agreed that the party

should be can celled and rescheduled. I told Stacey

that I wanted to give the parents a new date when I

called them all to cancel. She told me that she would

look in her book and call me back with a date. It was

decided that the party would now be scheduled for

February 26 at 2:00. I called all the guests and

informed them of the new date and time. I then

emailed Stacey requesting written confirmation that

the party was scheduled. I received that written

confirmation. My son and I chose new invitations to

send out to the guests and mailed them on Monday,

February 13.

February 14, I woke up to an emailed cancellation of

the party. Again furious, I responded that this issue

needed to be addressed via telephone and that since

this party was confirmed, it must go on. I did not

receive a response from Eurostove. I drove to

Eurostoves and found it closed. I called and left a

message. 7 hours later, and still no response from

Eurostoves regarding a party they cancelled by email,

I called again. It was then that I spoke to owner

Trever Lawson.

I pleaded my case to a man that arrogantly explained

to me that all he cared about was the money he was

getting from these parties. He also informed me that

under no circumstances would he move around other

parties to accommodate me. He war rude and arrogant

and never accepted responsibility for the problem, nor

offered to work with me to come up with a jointly

acceptable solution. I also told Trevor Lawson (I

refuse to refer to him as Mr.) that I would be filing

a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and

writing to local publications. He told me that he was

not a member of the BBB and "encouraged" to file

complaints and write letters.

I have requested in the complaints that I have written

that Eurostoves honor the services they agreed to

provide. They have refused to do so. Trevor Lawson

emailed me expressing that he would reimburse me for

the deposit and my expenses if I went to Eurostoves

and provided proof of them. I did exactly that and

told him that I would expect an apology as well. I

entered Eurostoves today with my children, including

my 5 year old son who's party Trevor Lawson ruined

because of his quest for the almighty buck. When he

handed me the reimbursement money today, I told him

that I think that we are owed an apology. He refused

and said he was finished with me.

I am shocked by the behavior of someone claiming to be

a business owner. I would think that rule number one

would be to admit your mistake, apologize and do

whatever it takes to maintain a good reputation.

Clearly, Eurostoves does not care about their

customers and clearly customer service is not their

stron suit. A decent, honest human would at least

apologize to a 5 year old child whose birthday he

ruined.
