Chase Auto Finance

Chase Auto Finance After four years and nine months of paying on time on a five year lease for a Honda Odyssey I received a letter notifying me the term was nearly up and time to consider buying the vehicle or turning it in. No specifics were offered - just a reminder. Two months later I received a four page letter, the first sentence of which mentioned I still had the option to purchase the vehicle, and that Chase Auto Finance stood at the ready should I elect that option to make the loan. The balance of the letter was dedicated to informing me what was expected of me should I decide to turn the vehicle in. I read on with some amusement, since I had long ago decided to purchase at the originally agreed to residual value of $12,213.00. Since this vehicle is among the most sought after, highly rated, and high value passenger vans in the world I knew this was a smart move; especially so since I had already negotiated a deal on a new Honda Odyssey wherein I was to receive over $16,000 trade in value on the 'old' one. The letter went on and on about how I would be charged for this or that, and the tone suggested there was no way I would not get 'dinged' for any number of defects. Since I had recently had new brakes installed, purchased new tires, as well as the 60,000 mile major tune up, more than $1,200.00, in anticipation of the purchase, I was not entertaining even remotely, the possibility of turning it in. But Chase Auto Finance had other ideas.... Chase had a snotty little brat witch call me whose agenda was to piss me off to the point that I would become so enraged that I would no more purchase the car from them than spit in my own soup. First, she raised the price by over seven hundred dollars. Then she told me I would likely be charged a variety of 'exit' fees. She put me on hold three times then hung up on me altogether. I put a check for the aforementioned residual value and sent a letter of my intentions via registered mail the next day, hoping it would get to someone with a shred of ethics in management. Silence for more than a month. I noticed the money disappeared from my checking account, so I thought the matter was over and done with. Wrongo! I get a letter from my credit reporting agency that Chase had reported me as thirty days overdue on my account! Then I get a call from another representative who informs me they need more money within two days or I will be in default and they will send someone out to take the car with a tow truck! I sent them their God Damned money. Affirming that the additional money had left my checking account I am now waiting for the vehicle title - and waiting. And waiting. The second check was cashed almost a month ago, and I got another letter from my credit reporting agency yesterday which indicated that I am now two months late on my Chase Auto Finance account. Is there no justice? No way to inflict pain on these bloodsuckers for treating humans so brutally? I hate these bastards with every fiber of my being, even though I realize it is a corporation that is a piece of paper on file in some state corporation commissioner's office.
