Air Tran airlines Dear Sirs or Madams, I flew Air Tran Air Lines to New York this summer and never had a worse experience in my life and I consider myself an experienced air line passenger. We arrived in plenty of time to catch our flights and relax. The weather in Chicago was rainy but quite normal for that time of year - early June. We were going to a wedding in New York and to conduct some business as well. From the get go we had problems - the air line said our flight was delayed for weather related issues on the east coast and we might not be able to leave on time. We later found out that the hub in Atlanta was causing a back up to the whole system. There were also crew issues that the air lines apparently can blame to weather?? (What's up with that?) Instead of attempting any reroute they let every guess as to what would happen next. we ended up at the wrong airport and had to take a cab from Newark to New York at a cost of almost $150. If we had not chosen that route we might have lost our room. Our baggage was not found until 8pm the next day and my wife was extremely upset at not having her dress for the wedding. Air Tran took information from us at all points and never ever contacted us after that. After several phone calls to the main office I was told it was being investigated but to this day never heard from them. The details are: Confirmation # - FW 29 DO - New York to Atlanta to Chicago Flights 831,44, 375, 1775 etc all on or about June 2 and 3, 2005 and June 7 and 7, 2005 I was never promised so much and received so little in a customer satisfaction program. It is amazing this air lines is still in business.
