bissel carpet shampooer/1697 bissel homecare, inc., 2345 walker, nw. grand rapids, mi., 49544, after purchase of carpet cleaner model 1697 it began to have problems with the main housing. the screws that hold it together were just pulling through and breaking the plastic so that they couldn't be reinstalled. after contacting their service rep we were told that this is common and that the manufacturer was well aware of it. the rep went on to say that he had contacted the company and said he no longer wanted to service their products but was convinced not to because bissel said to him that he should consider how many new customers they were bringing into his business. the cost of the replacement parts was so high that it wasn't worth repairing a year and a half old product so we ended up buying an entirly new one. we bought an oreck machine with a ten year warranty that is made in america, very well built and very much more effective than the bissel product we had. another company shipping jobs overseas and not caring about anything but their profit. live and learn, my only consolation is that we bought it on sale. had we paid the full original asking price i would have used the information i had gleaned and taken them to court and sued for a return of my money. -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/ From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 14-Feb-06 19:45:24 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
