Business Info

On the 16th of January, I paid Newegg.com for a download of a program called Poster artist. I paid $107.80 for the download. I got a link in my email from newegg.com and a little note telling me to click on the link and to sign into a page to get my download. I clicked the link and signed in to the page, but there was no download link available. There was nothing to click on at all. Nothing except plain text. I do know the difference. I contacted Newegg and they were just wonderful on the phone. They told me that they would fix the problem right away. Only...they didn't. They attempted to fix it, but each time I logged in, it was the same thing...no download...only text. A little later that day they sent me the following email:

"Hello again ma'am! I just received a status update on your situation and

apparently your not alone! I do apologize for this ma'am but I was given

a number that you can call to see what can be done for your particular

situation okay? The number is 888-245-1666-Digital River. If you have any

further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly via

e-mail or simply call 1-800-390-1119

I called that number (then number belongs to a company called Digital River) and was told by Digital River they do not deal with newegg.com customers directly, but they would see what they could do and promised that they would conact me within 24 to 48 hours. While on the phone with me, they signed in to the page that I had gone to and confirmed that they could see there was no link available. I waited a few days, but they never contacted me.

I again called Newegg.com and when I requested a refund, I was promised one. At first I was impressed with how nice they were on the phone. I felt confident that they would give me my money back as they had promised. I waited...and waited...and waited. When I called a few days later to find out where my refund was, I was met with a completely different attitude. I was shocked!! I was told that I was not going to get a refund because I had already downloaded the program. I was also told that the download link "Disappears" when it is downloaded." (Digital River confirmed that this is not true) The man at newegg.com was the same man that sent me the above email. I repeatedly asked him for my download... And he went on to say that there was nothing he could do. Talking to him was a waste of time. He clearly was following orders...though I did ask him how he could sleep at night after stealing my money! He sent me the following email.

"831.480.2001 for technical support for this downloadable product.

That was it! That was all it said! (there were a couple of links to newegg.com though) I guess they thought I was stupid enough to purchase another product from them.

I asked this man from newegg.com for confirmation of what was happening as this was the one man that KNEW I did not get my download. I was hoping that I could get Digital River to take some kind of action in helping me get my download. Digital River said that Newegg.com should give me a refund. I told the man at Newegg.com that I was not going to go away! That I was going to tell anyone that would listen about how newegg.com RIPPED ME OFF! He asked me not to do that. Then I got this email.

"Dear *** *****,

This e-mail is to confirm with you that because of the problems that you have

been having with your downloaded software, we have provided two numbers for

support as far as troubleshooting the product. Digital River 888-245-1666 &

831-480-2001 for technical support. I do apologize for the inconvenience that

you have been going through for this product ma'am. These numbers have been

provided for you to avoid further delay of this product's successful download

and operation.

Did you notice that he says, "Downloaded software'??? What software?? It sure would be nice if I could download it!! I want my download NEWEGG.COM!!!

That is it! So...I again called Digital River who told me that they were, "working on it." They have been "Working on it" since the 16th of January. Yet, Newegg.com claims that I am not entitled to a refund. I don't know about you, but I call this theft!! I paid for something and I did not get it! All I want is the download OR a refund!! How hard is that?? I even asked Digital River if I could pay the extra few dollars and get the Boxed version of the product that I paid for. They told me that they do not take orders for newegg.com and that I would have to pay newegg.com the money. I am not willing to give newegg.com any more of my money! SHAME ON YOU NEWEGG! I am not about to give them the opportunity to steal another dime of my money.

The thing I really wonder is if Newegg.com really has the product they are offering? I mean, anyone that knows how to build a website knows how to offer a download! I know how to offer a download!! What is the big deal here??? I really want the program Poser Artist, but now, I am afraid to go purchase it elsewhere. I worry that I will unknowingly give my money to another company that is unable to provide me with the download because they are going through newegg.com or Digital River. I had heard there were problems with newegg.com after I gave them my money. I only wish I had researched them before I paid them. If I had, I would have found out that, as stated in the above email from newegg.com ~ I am definately not alone!!

I spent more than 5 hours trying to talk to newegg.com, but it was always the same run around. I have contacted Paypal and opened a dispute. I had paid newegg.com through paypal. I would have thought that newegg.com would have responded to the dispute, but they haen't yet. I am shocked that they just don't seem to care that they took my money and gave me nothing in return. Several days have passed since I opened the dispute and not one word. I am amazed at how these people can be allowed to do business. I am not alone here. When I did research on the internet about complaints made by newegg.com customers, I found SO MANY that I was shocked! I have since added them all to my favorites...and one by one, I am going to add my own complaint to the lists. I don't know about you, but I don't take kindly to being ripped off!

So does anyone have the program Poser Artist they want to sell? I am looking for a new version of the program that I can register. Unlike newegg.com I believe honesty is the best policy.

>From a woman who just wanted to buy a program called Poser Artist and gave her money to the WRONG COMPANY! You know that old saying, "Buyer Beware?" Well, if you are buying from newegg.com ~ BEWARE!!!
