On January 29, 2006 we went into Mattress Discounters to look at advertised beds. The least expensive model 'The Atrium' advertised was not even available on the floor. They had a twin mattress on the floor if you wanted to try it out. BAIT & SWITCH. The Salesman was so 'laid back' he seemed to still be at a Greatful Dead Concert. When we were dissatisfied with what we had seen and were going to leave he offred us an 'alternative'. They had some floor models of what we were interested in and we could purchase those for a discount. What we got and what we selected were two different things. Additionally one of the mattress is soooo bad it's comprable with the 20 year old saggy mattress we replaced and it's worn looked, tags missing and it has no proof of being 'sterilized'. We just paid $1505 for 2 USED mattress sets (King & Queen, both Sealy)

The very next day we went to the store to get things straightened out. They wouldn't even begin to talk to us until all other customers had left the store. They absolutely refused to refund the money. The salesman said, they'd exchange them, just pick out something else. They tried to charge us an ADDITIONAL $1300 to exchange the mattresses. We said unacceptable. We finally left having selected a new King mattress set. Unfortunately, they already had our original mattress. That was the only way we could get out of there and only pay another $50+tax for delivery.

Upon delivery of the new King Mattress, that was all they brought - no box spring. I called the store and Mr. David Kramer explained they weren't going to exchange the box springs, only the mattress.

This is such a scam. I strongly recommend to ANYONE purchasing a new mattress to NOT go to these little mattress boutique stores and deal only with reputable retailers who stand behind their merchandise. I now praise the 'Big Box' store - because they have ALWAYS stood behind their merchandise.

I have bought many mattress sets from Mattress Discounters in the past and have had an enjoyable experience doing so every time. The salespeople were both professional and very help full and the delivery crew were professional, speedy, and very pleasant. After reading this post I decided visited the Rohnert Park Mattress Discounters and discovered that the person you referred to is no longer working for Mattress Discounters, as you could probably guess as to why. I normally go to the Mattress Discounters in Santa Rosa and have never had a problem so I don't think its the company, I think the salesperson who helped you out did a very poor job.
