Ebay PayPal ripoff

Ebay PayPal ripoff I bought a car on ebay and the seller sent me a ratty hulk that was nothing like what the vehicle description on the auction represented. I disputed the transaction and both ebay and Pay Pal blew me off on technicalities. Vehicle ownership: The seller has sold the car and does not own it. His name is nowhere on the title. In Square Trade mediation it was revealed that seller acted as an agent for a third party who also is not listed as the owner on the title. Mileage: The seller represented the mileage at the auction to be 184,000. The odometer in the dash of the car displays 281,138 miles. The title shows the mileage as 9,999,999 and TMU meaning True Mileage Unknown. Title: The seller states in the vehicle description at the auction site that the car has a clear title. When I got the paperwork the North Carolina seller had stapled instructions to the Massachusetts title showing ‘Requirements for obtaining title by filing an indemnity bond.’ This is not a clear title as described in the listing to sell the car. I spent 2 hours at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. They will not transfer the title, telling me that the title should have been applied for by previous buyers, either Everett Brown or Kerry Hughley, and that person as the owner of title could transfer the title to me. As it is now, Ohio can’t (won’t) do anything to transfer the title. Vehicle condition: The seller states…. “no rust on the body or inside. There is some surface rust on the passenger wheel wells, that’s it.” In fact the rear wheel wells are rusted through the sheet metal on more than half of the wheel well circumference on both sides of the car, and there is visible rust coming through the sheet metal behind the front wheels. This is not ‘surface rust’. Both rear wheel wells are rusted through and through. I disputed the transaction with Pay Pal and they denied my claim. I paid $100 for a mediator service at Square Trade.com, but the seller would not negotiate. _________________________________________________________________ WIN up to $10,000 in cash or prizes – enter the Microsoft Office Live Sweepstakes http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/aub0050001581mrt/direct/01/ From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 09-Dec-06 11:09:02 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
