This company advertises by throwing rock filled bags with a piece of paper attached to them into people's yards. I have requested over the phone that they not litter in my yard over 10 times now and have been told each time that they would discontinue the practice in my yard. Yet they still continue to do so, so this last time I requested a person come out to give me an estimate so that I could confront them face to face to discuss the problem and to show them exactly where I am located so that they could have a visual reference as to the location that I do not want litter strewn. This person who showed up was offended by my last ditch attempt to get this issue resolved before issuing complaints. He also told me that the company does not respect the wishes of those property owners that request that they do not litter in their yards because it would not be practical for the person who is driving through neighborhoods at 20mph strewing the advertisements in yards to actually look at a list of addresses that have requested they not do so, and that regardless of my request there will be many more advertisements strewn in my yard in the future. So why is that when I called my address was taken down and I was told it would stop?

Apparently this Littering Landscaper has already gone through litigation on this issue with another poor soul who simply wanted them to stop littering in his yard, and the outcome was that AZ has no law prohibiting them from this form of advertising. But there is no law that says he cannot simply respect the wishes of property owners and implement procedures that would allow him to abide by those wishes. I was told that the Littering Landscaper has numerous requests to cease and desist from this, but not as many as may generate revenue, therefore since we are a minority on this issue it's just too bad for us. It would seem to me that if and individual has already taken him to court and he has numerous other requests to stop this practice that as a responsible owner of a supposed "Christian" based business it would be in his best interest to attempt to find a middle ground and respect the wishes of those who do not want his advertisements littering their yard as well as those who do not mind and may generate revenue. I think that his obstinate refusal to respect the wishes of EVERYONE involved is testament to the fact that he and his business are not Christian based and that they use this form of false advertising to lure unsuspecting clients into thinking they are doing business with a Christian company when in fact they are not. Their website even states "We are a Phoenix based landscaping business centered on Biblical principles" and "Our faith in Christ has a profound impact on our customer service practices, work ethic, and our approach at meeting our long-term goals." It does not say that these principles are only afforded to those who actually hire the company and provide them with revenue. That is not how TRUE Christians operate and as I was told the company just does not care about my requests or my complaints, only their bottom line which again is testament to the fallacy of their advertising as well as the discourteous disrespect of other human beings in general. This company and it's owner are selfish, arrogant and dishonest and I truly wonder which Biblical principles lead him to believe that blatant disrespect for his neighbors is a legitimate way to run his business. By his own logic I should be able to put anything I want in Mr. Ryan’s yard with no consequences and it would become the responsibility of the property owner once placed there.

All I'm asking is that the company not litter in my yard, this is a very simple request. I am not asking that they do anything that would cause harm to the company or owner in any way, just please don't litter in my yard.

I have to say after visiting renewyourlandscapingaz.com I agree these businesses are NOT Christian centered. I get this junk (and others) in my driveway and it goes beyond being annoying. I see no reason that these people cannot cease throwing this junk in my driveway. If they really were "Christian" they would respect the request of their neighbors over their greedy, rude attitude. It appears they simply want to paint a Jesus face on their business so unsuspecting customers think they are "good guys." That sounds pretty deceptive by the standards of man but I really wonder how they will justify this misuse of God on Judgement Day?!

In addition, in a city where robbery, burglary and other home crimes are common on a daily basis, the LAST thing I want a criminal to see is junk laying in my driveway while I am not home. I suspect that after a person has been robbed, hurt or killed because the criminal took his cue from the junk advertising in the driveway, they might stop. But no lawsuit will undo the crime, mend the hurt or worse...bring back the dead.

It seems businesses like this just don't respect anyone. They are only interested in a buck at ANY cost! This is very sad.

Actually, there is a law against this in the city of Phoenix as well as in other cities. The City of Phoenix code section 3-5 states "No person shall throw, deposit or distribute any commercial or noncommercial handbill upon any private premises if requested by anyone thereon not to do so."

My neighbors and I got Terry Murray of Murray's landscaping sucessfully prosecuted under the code. He paid a fine of $4,505 and has to serve 3 years probation.

So, Mr. Ryan, if this is your Christian manner of doing business, no thanks.

I highly recommend you contact the City Police department in this matter. I am going to do it as well, because today, Mr. Ryan violated my written request.

By the way, the code does not require a written request.

I actually didnt mind that this company littered my driveway with the advertisement, since I was in need of landscaping services. HOWEVER, the woman who takes their calls, KIM, is very rude, and Rick takes 3 days to call anyone back. He was scheduled to come out and re-assess his estimate to me, as KIM didnt forward the information about what I wanted done in the first place. He never showed. BAD BUSINESS. You had the right attitude about them in the first place! I read your complaint before I called them. I regret that decision now.
