I purchased 512MB RAM for two different Dell Dimension computers. The 512 for one computer only read 256. I was told it must be the BIOS. The latest BIOS is the same one the computer has now. The deduction of the 20% restocking fee and return shipping fee from the purchase price of the RAM would be equivalent to the finial purchase price of 256MB RAM. The 512 for the second computer did read 512. At least I received what I paid for with one of the two. Be aware that you too might not receive what you have paid for.
