Citibank Diamond Preferred Visa - Failure to suspend a disputed charge

Citibank Diamond Preferred Visa - Failure to suspend a disputed charge

In November, I incurred an unauthorized charge of

$280.90 by Juno. I originally wanted to cancel my

long-term account with them, since I now had a DSL

line. The customer service representative persuaded me

to keep a subscription for half the normal rate of

$9.95/month – at $4.46/month – until Dec. 16. To keep

a long story short, I was misled into believing I was

benefiting from a reduced service, when in fact, the

3rd of 4th customer rep. I talked to mentioned that it

was a "metered" service, which I never asked for, and

which was never offered -- or mentioned -- by Juno in

their confirmation email.

Citi Diamond immediately cancelled my card and issued

a new one; they asked me to fill out an affidavit of

unauthorized use, which I did, and to have it

notarized. I also attached, among other documents,

copy of a letter I sent to the FCC complaining of

fraudulent practices.

Well, my new card statement still reflects $280.90,

PLUS an additional $25.51 charged by Juno AFTER my

cancellation date. How did this charge get to appear

on my new card, supposedly unknown to Juno?

First, Citibank Visa did not even bother to reply to

an enquiry I sent by fax. So, after talking again with

their "Security Services", it appears that I am

expected to pay these charges, otherwise I will incur

interest on them.

I have been a client for years; I have always paid the

totality of my credit card charges at the end of the

month. I never had a dispute about a charge. I feel

that Citibank Visa does not protect its clients, but

treats them as if THEY were the culprits.

I will be cancelling my account with them.
