(this is the letter I sent to their ‘corporate offices’ – of course no response yet)


 


To Whom It May Concern:


 


I met with a sales rep on or about 11/21/06 – 11/22/06 regarding Window Treatments and Carpet. I placed my order for both that evening and gave my deposit ( the following week I cancelled the carpet order and did receive my deposit back). I explained to the sales rep that I did not want the blinds delivered until I called because I was having new windows installed first. – he agreed.


 


On 11/27/06 an installer came out to do a 2nd measurement. I was not home. My son was there and signed his name to the paper. Keep in mind, when this 2nd measurement was done, my new windows were still not installed. My son neglected to tell me that this person had come by.


 


On 12/2/06 an installer arrived at my house around 4:30 pm saying he was there to install my blinds. I told him “no, you cannot install the blinds – my new windows have not yet been installed. I told the sales rep that I would call you when the new windows were installed and arrange a time after that for you to come and install the blinds.” He said ok and left.


 


The following week my windows were installed and I called Empire Today to arrange for my blinds to be installed. I had to repeat my story to the young lady twice. She still seemed confused and put me on hold to talk with her supervisor. The supervisor gets on the line and I repeat my story a third time. She interrupts me and says, “wait, we’re talking about your carpet, right?” After explaining again the 4th time she informs me that this will be something that the local store will have to take care of and they are closed. She said she would have someone call me the following day. By 2:00 the following day I still had not heard anything and called again. I went thru the same story and told them “I just want my blinds!” They informed me that when I told the installer on 12/2 that he could not install my blinds that day, it was the same as a cancellation and the blinds went back to the manufacturer. I was assured that as SOON as they got them back an installer would be out to install them.


 


Finally, on Saturday the installer came out. He began installing the blinds. After putting the first one up he called my attention to where the blinds ended on the right side. You could tell they were ‘off center’ of the beam by about
