TMI Wireless - Cingular Family Plan
|
TMI Wireless - Cingular Family Plan This complaints is against TMI Wireless (tmicell.com), also doing business as WireFly.com. SCAM 1: WireFly.com advertises on television and appears as a front to route a customer's request to another business in the background. The "other business" appears unable to provide the services specified by WireFly. SCAM 2: On December 20th, I placed an order for a pair of Motorola V3s and a 550 minute Family Plan at the WireFly website. Subsequently, TMI Wireless sent me an email saying that there was a problem with my order. TMI indicated that the 500 minute plan at $59.99 was not available and that the 700 minute plan was required at $69.95. SCAM 3: Then they stated that I could not port my existing Cingular telephone number without paying an additional $31.00 fee, though this was not indicated on the WireFly website. My active phone number with with Cingular was in good standing and the contract expired on November 11, 2006. There action equates a triple "bait-and-switch" and multiple fraudulent actions. Under FCC guidelines, cellular numbers are portable regardless of carrier. This is the same carrier. Under every Federal guideline known, an written advertise offer is required to met. It appears that this does not apply to corporations conducting business on the Internet, though they are conducting interstate business. We'll be visiting Cingular today to see if we can straighten out this mess. CAVEAT EMPTOR!
