Sears Roebuck and Company- Sears/Craftsman Garage Door Opener

Sears Roebuck and Company- Sears/Craftsman Garage Door Opener I purchased a Sears/Craftsman Garage Opener, Model 139.53635SRT-1/2 HP for use in my home in 1993. Well, I need to replace the wireing with the connector's attached to the wires so the can be pluged into the safety sensors. I ordered the part from the Sears parts center at, 1-800-469-4663, and they sent me one roll of red/white wire without the connectors attached and nothing else, which I paid $14.11 for and is of no use to me. My parts page in the manual list's the part no. as ( 41B4115- 2-concuctor bell wire with connector-2rolls- white &white/black). I was told, when calling them back after I received the wrong part that the part no's have all been changed and that the new no. was now 219A323 and now they are telling me that this item does not even have connectors with it. They do list the safety sensor kit with connectors but the connectors are bad on my sensors that plug in and are not permanetly attached to the connectors. My book list's the safety sensor kit (receiving and sending eye only) which I do not need and it costs is $35.00 plus tax and shipping and, I think it is pretty shabby that now they change the playing field mid-stream and want me to play by the rules that were not the rules when I purchased it. I was given a name and no. by thr Sears Rep. and was told to call them and get a no. that goes with what I am looking for, which I did and was told that the can only help someone who had 90 day old or less Opener and would not direct me to another department, PERIOD. I then called the parts center back, talked to the Rep. for about 20 minutes and when she put me on hold to seek out more information I somehow got transfered to some kind of Sears credit card department. She said she could transfere me back to the Rep. but in the process she only was able to get me back to the 800 no. and Iwould have had to start all over with someone new. Getting back to the last Rep. that I talked to, she said that the item I am looking for is available in the Sears stores. Well, I called all the Sears stores around my area and the all tell me that they do not sell any parts for the Garage Door Openers, only the Openers. I have a owners manual dated 1993 with parts no's, descriptions, and pictures and, it shows the item I am looking for with the connectors attached to the end of the wire. I have always likes dealing with Seats in the past, refrigerators, freezer,Opener, tires,auto-repairs, clothes, etc., and have never been put in an unpleasant situation as this. I am not asking for them to repair this Opener, just to help me get thr right parts that I need to complete my task. I really hope I don't need to take this matter to the media for help. Robert G. Model 139.6516.00 which is only a 1/4 HP garage door opener. It's funny but my husband was able to program my Nissan Titan to open the door but we can't get a remote anywhere. We have 3 vehicles (one old work truck) and need another. Sears wants me to buy a whole new unit. I have tried multiple internet stores and get the "turn down" from each one of them. I know your delima. Let me know what happens. Garage Door Opener Model 139.53608 - 1/2 hp. The plastic worm gear shredded and I checked online for the part; was able to locate it; find it in three local Sears in my geographic area. The web site had incorrect address info for one of their stores but I was able to figure out which was which. Called the local store number which got me to a national representative who didn't have a clue. The Sears web site recommended calling the local store to reserve the part. The local number she gave me, I already had tried and it just rings open. Doesn't even go to a voice mail prompt. I was ready to get in my car and go buy the part. However, with the price of gas, today, I'd like the $5-$6 round-trip travel cost to not be a waste and just wanted to s/w a human being who can say 'yes, I have the part and will hold it for you'. The Sears rep ended the conversation with 'Have a great day'. No chance. I guess I should be relieved that I didn't get someone on the phone in another country. While Sears said the part may be covered by warranty, it would cost $65 for them to get it done. I am considering filing a class action lawsuit against Sears. If you would like more information on joining the class, please email a summary of your experience with Sears and/or the garage door opener, along with your contact information: name, tele. no., e-mail address.
