Bidz.com Auction

Bidz.com Auction

On Dec. 10, 2006, I won a bid for a ring on Bidz.Com. I was notified that I had won the bid (Amount $215.) and that they had received my payment for the item and they gave me a number, so that I could trace the shipment. I had purchased this ring as a Christmas present for my wife, so on Dec. 22nd, I e-mailed their Customer Service Department to inquire on the rings disposition. A while later on this same day, they replied to my e-mail inquiry, advising that their records showed that they had experienced a computer glitch on that date and that these glitches made it unfair to many users who were unable to bid on certain items on that day. They further said that in order to make it fair to all Bidz.com Customers, that they were removing all items affected by these glitches from users accounts and relisting them for auction.

If in fact if they did have a computer glitch on that day that affected the item in question, why would they not have contacted me immediately and informed me of this situation, rather than wait 10 days until I sent them an e-mail inquiring as to the whereabouts of this item, that I was giving as a Christmas present.

This is the second time that this same thing has happened that I had won a bid on an item and they came back sometime later and told me that they were cancelling the transaction due to a computer glitch. One other time they told me that they had previously sold the item that I won the bid on, thus they were cancelling the transaction.

I feel quite sure that their problem was that the amount of my winning bid of $215. was not satisfactory with them for that particular ring, which they had their comparison price at ($9929.00). Their suggested prices are very excessive, but I feel that they expected the ring to go for a minimum of $700., and since there was that much difference, they imply computer glitch.

Please advise what steps that I can take in this matter? My e-mail address is ( Email User)
