My 6yo child is not going to get her gift this year before Christmas because my local post office failed so horribly to even attempt to deliver a package. From what I understand, some computer system didn't have me listed at the address on the package, so the package was immediately returned. There was no pink slip left, no attempt to confirm. There was instead a complete and total lack of regard and care for the execution of the paid-for service. I know for a fact that UPS and DHL (amongst others) would take the package to the address to attempt delivery whether or not some computer said there was someone there. My largest concern is not that the package wasn't delivered, but rather why no attempt was made at all. This is an almost 300yo company that's continuing to be left in the dust by newer, smaller competitors. I won't use USPS for my shipping anymore, ever.

I’m having the sender of the package overnight COD the package back to me in a feeble attempt to rescue this situation, but I will expect a full refund from USPS for all the charges because of the gross negligence of my carrier and associates.
