No service at Home depot

No service at Home depot The Home Depot 140 N Bypass 35 Alvin Tx. Earlier this month after painting my living/dining area and cleaning the carpet , I noticed that some badly soiled spots were showing through again . Knowing that I wanted to get replacement carpet pretty quickly, I went to Home Depot here in town to purchase carpet that they were advertising as being installed in 72 hours. After standing around in the empty carpet department for over 10 minutes I went to the service desk and the person working there told me she would send someone to help me. I went back to the flooring department and waited for quite some time, but no one showed up. I eventually left and went to our local dealer, Alvin Decorating and Floors, and found just what I was looking for in my price range. The nice gentleman there told me he couldn’t guarantee that it could be installed no sooner than 2 weeks from order date. Thinking I couldn’t wait that long, I returned to Home Depot and asked for help again and waited some more. A young girl showed up in a red apron, When I asked about the percentage of nylon and olefins in the carpet, she flipped through a folder on the desk and said she didn’t know that and she didn’t think they had that figure. Now I know the content of the carpet has to be on record somewhere. So then I asked about the 72 hour service and she said that the time is counted from the time someone comes out to measure the floor, which wouldn’t be possible until Sunday (this was on Wednesday). I asked what would be the date of installation ? She replied it would be on Wednesday the following week. Well, at that point I decided if I had to wait for a whole week, I could wait for 2 weeks, so I returned to Alvin Decorating and Floors. This time I spoke with a lady, (I didn’t get her name) who very graciously called the carpet company to get the delivery date. I brought carpets samples home, made my selection and returned to the store. My order was called in and they even took my word for the amount of carpet as I had already measured my room. When I asked about paying, I was told to just wait until it was installed to pay. My carpet was installed on the following Thursday, only one day later than Home Depot’s “ promised “ delivery date. Lesson here: Always deal with hometown people if at all possible. Thanks a million Alvin Decorating & Floors!
