The above named company is the subject of my complaint.

On 13 Dec 06 at 0953 a.m., I placed an order for an advertised special, (Free T-Mobile Blackberry 8700g; Free Motorola Bluetooth Headset; $100 Mail-in Rebate; T-Mobile 1000 min plan w/ Blackberry add-on. This is evident on an invoice generated by and still on record at Wirefly as of this typing. Yet per the final receipt printed upon shipping, I was charged $99 plus tax for this phone which was advertised and invoiced to me as free. At no point did I authorize InPhonic/Wirefly to charge my credit card account for said amount. Numerous calls to Wirefly customer service, as well as the “Office of the President”, has not resolved this matter. Instead, I’ve been given the run around repeatedly, flat out lied to about the matter. Unfortunately for me, I had not read about all the complaints filed against the company; the negative BBB rating; or the suit filed by the District of Columbia, but as a new “victim” I can see where all the negative press warranted.

I have made every good faith attempt to resolve this over the phone, live chat, as well as by faxing documents to InPhonic. The documents I possess speak for themselves; Wirefly has done nothing to assist in resolving the matter and have chosen to demonstrate a “take it or leave” approach. I feel at this point I’m being held over a barrel. I really feel that if I were to try and return the phone, it would be more of the same and I’d be waiting months or possibly longer for a refund that I may or may not see based on the their current pattern of unscrupulous behavior. This type of intimidating, coercive business practice should not be allowed to continue.
