Blue Haven Pool in Tucson

Blue Haven Pool in Tucson

To Whom It May Concern:

I have had numerous problems with Blue Haven Pool. Here is just ONE of them:

They installed an Aquacal Cal heat pump in my backyard after the pool was completed. The circuit was not wired properly into our main electrical box, so consequently the first major power surge we had fried the circuit board of the brand new heat pump. We waited over a month to have them service it (found out later that they didn't contact Aquacal for two weeks after our initial service call, this per the Aquacal rep).

When their sub-contractor from "Better Pool Care" finally showed up over a month later to correct the electrical wiring per the Aquacal Rep's suggestion, Better Pool Care said he didn't have the right circuits with him and that he would come back early the next week to replace it. So, by Friday the next week, after not being able to use our brand new $ 5,000 heat pump for over a month, I threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau (which Blue Haven Tucson has been kicked out of, incidentally)...Better Pool Care showed up within hours, didn't ring my doorbell, didn't leave a note..just snuck in and snuck out.

Approximately three months later, heat pump didn't work AGAIN...placed service call and wanted it fixed ASAP..said I was going on vacation and when I got back I wanted it fixed. Since Blue Haven doesn't leave notes (although Cynthia in the office likes to claim different) I thought they had been there and fixed the heat pump, because it was working. Two weeks later (this is now THREE weeks after placing my sevice call) they send over their sub-contractor Better Pool Care again to look at my heat pump. He leaves me a bill for $85.00 saying nothing is wrong. I call Blue Haven to tell them I'm not paying it. because I thought they had already been there weeks ago to fix it. Cynthia said they always leave a note...so I should have known they haven't been there. I told her that all they left was a broken pen by the pool filter for today's service call....she then tells me that Aquacal won't pay the bill because the warranty work wasn't needed..pump checked fine.

I then call Aquacal Rep..he tells me that Blue Haven and it's subcontractors are not to service the heat pump...Blue Haven should have called them to service it, not use their own people...they recommend I call Aquacal for all my service needs since Blue Haven isn't going thru the proper channels. He said they wouldn't pay Blue Haven's subcontractor to fix the pump since he isn't supposed to service it in the first place.

Guess who get's to pay for a pointless $85.00 service call? I feel like I am doing business with either really bad business people who are luckily in business despite their incompetence; or really shrewd, dishonest people who are out to make their products shoddy so they can get a 'cut' of all the service they will eventually need.

Blue Haven Tucson has a multitude of internet complaints. My husband and I should have never, ever, built our pool with them. Their salesman did an awesome job designing our pool, and their pool start-up instructor did an excellent job as well. The timeline they took to construct the pool was tedious and way too long. I had many of my neighbors comment on that. Their office staff are courteous as long as nothing is wrong, if you have any issues with their ethics, conscientiousness, or promptness, expect rudeness.

Avoid this company at all costs!!!
