eProfits made simple of Salt Lake City Utah fraudulent charges eProfits made simple of Salt Lake City Utah
On May 22, 2006, I attended a "FREE 90 minute workshop" in Rockford, Illinois put on by eProfits. I still have the original newspaper ad showing that this 90 minute workshop was free. At the end of the workshop, everyone was invited to enroll in a "Workshop Enrollment-Website Set-up Request." At this time, my credit card was charged the amount of $97. which was for the workshop to be held the following day. After returning home and reading the contract, I realized this was not what I thought it was going to be. On the back of the contract I had signed, it clearly stated that I had 3 days to cancel the contract and get my money back. It gave specific details on canceling this contract. I did not attend this workshop. It clearly stated, "You may cancel this transaction, without penalty or obligation, by midnight of the 3rd business day from the above date of sale provided you have not attended the training workshop." On May 23rd, 2006, I faxed my cancelation to the company, I sent a copy of the fax by mail also. I have proof I sent the fax from Office Depot and the number it was faxed to and that it went through. The contract stated:To cancel this transaction, send a signed and dated cancellation by mail to eProfits, Inc., Attn: Refunds: 3135 South 1300 East: Salt Lake City, Utah 84106 no later than midnight of the 3rd business day after the transaction. The cancellation notice can also be sent by facsimile to 801.349.3749. Cancellation by telephone does not qualify. I cancelled this contract by fax and by letter exactly as requested. It took months to get a credit to my MasterCard for the $97. During this time, I had to send copies of everything I had done to cancel the transaction. I was contacted by e-mail by a man by the name of Nate. Finally the $97 credit was issued. I thought this nightmare was over. All of a sudden, eProfits started charging me $29.98 per month to host a web-site for me. I have no web-site nor do I want one. I was unable to stop these monthly charges, and finally cancelled the MasterCard. The MasterCard was with Sears Credit cards. I spoke to people many times at Sears credit regarding my problems with eProfits, and sent them every bit of information about this contract three (3) times and was assured that it was taken care of and credits had been issued, and this old account closed. Yesterday I received a letter from Sears cardmember services stating they needed more information and that the monthly charges had been put back on my cancelled account. Of course I called Sears again to tell them about this situation, and they just said I needed to once again get in touch with yet another office. This has become a nightmare for me. I am 76 years old and I consider this, abuse and fraud of the elderly. Most people 76 years old would not have been able to get together all the information and records which I have sent to support my credit of these charges.
These people must be stopped from this illegal activity. Please help me in this matter.
