Members Edge- fraudulent charges on my phone bill

I was just charged this month for a service I never had signed up for or even heard of. After 2 hrs on hold and hung up on several times I finally got a human on the line. When I asked questions as to who signed me up I was told a name, which was my son, but who has never and did not sign up for any voice mail (we have an answering machine). When I contacted this company I told them right out they were a fraudulent company who does not even offer a "real" voicemail service. My answering machine picks up all our calls. He told me they would reverse the charges and "cancel" my account. What I am wondering at this time is that about 8 months ago my identify was compromised and I feel very strongly that this is how they had my SS# and was able to place these charges on my att bill. I want to make a big stink and have been researching this co. In the mean time, my phone service cannot stop this co. from charging me for this fraudulent charges on my bill. Any info you have would help me bring this co. down.
