Dear Complaints.com.

I was a costomer with earthlink.net for over 5 years. My DSL servise was terrible. the internet went out over 20 times. I called numerous times but was disconected or placed on hold for over 3 hrs. They had me buy filters and said it was my phone like. Finally they sent their installer COVAC out and he said that everything was in working order. Earthlink sent out a new modem to replace the modem that they said was bad. The internet would work for a few days then go out again. Since they had exhausted their ideas and the internet still didn't work right I canceled. I was told that since I accepted a new modem that was the same as accepting a new contract. I was never told that. They said that I must pay $70 to cancel since I had an extra year still to go on my contract. I was almost happy to pay them to get out of the contract that I did not authourize. Weh I got my creditcard bill was I* surprized to find a charge of $190 on it not $70. I can not get through to them since they say I am no longer a custom.I filed with the Better Business Bureau. Tell everyone never deal with earthlink.

P>S> I am with AT&T now and when AT&T's intaller cam out he found that earthlink's installer COVAC had used thin unacceptable wire in the receptical on the outside of the house. It wasn't AT&T type phone wire. AT&T wired the internet DSL up the right way and now now prblems and no charge for the service.
