I recently renewed my membership in AAA. I thought it was quite expensive, so I was going to drop my membership after 33 years as a member. I decided I still might need emergency roadside assistance, so I paid the fee for membership renewal. I called to have roadside assistance on December 14th at 12:30 a.m. and talked to a helpful AAA employee. She said that she would call me back in 15 minutes to let me know when assistance would be available. I never received a call back. I was forced to take care of the situation myself. When I called the AAA office at 8 a.m. on December 14th, I was told that the AAA office could not find anyone to come to help me at 12:30 a.m., so they decided not to come. They never explained why they did not call me back. They instead said that they called a deputy sheriff to alert him to my situation, and that took care of their responsibility for this roadside emergency. I do not understand how a company can say that they guarantee that they will assist you and then so nonchalantly shrug off this promise. They are not keeping their word. Why am I paying this company money for services they do not deliver? I feel all of this is truly unfair, and I have lost my faith in a company that I always admired.
