Circuit City After 10 years of NOT shopping with Circuit City I decided this year, 2006, to give them a try for some Christmas presents. Again, they proved why I do have not shopped with them. I had a very simple order of four items. Three were in stock and one was back ordered.
The first shipment arrived and it was someone else's order. I called their toll free number and talked with a very pleasant young lady who was very thorough and explained everything I needed to do. I returned to their fulfillment center, at my cost, the incorrect items, providing them with the tracking number. Four days later I received an email with a return, postage-paid print out that neither UPS or FEDEX would accept for the incorrect item. So, now I am out of the cost of an incorrect item. I then received two of the three in-stock items.
A week later I received notification that the back ordered item could not arrive in time and I should "reply to" the email and either ask to "wait" or "cancel" the order. The reply to address is not recognized by any email server I can find as I sent it from four different locations using different email servers. I finally logged into their site and tried to cancel the back ordered portion and was unable to cancel part of an order...it's all or nothing. So, I called again. I received the cancellation number over the phone and was told my credit card would be credited that day. It's now two weeks later and my credit card has not been credited; however, I did receive notification today that my credit card would be credited for an ITEM I HAD ALREADY RECEIVED.
