Vonage is such a liar.

Vonage is such a liar. Hi, I have signed with Vonage back in August, 19 2006 and called them back on August 21, 2006 for cancellation on the service. They advertise so big about 30 day money back guaranty, but it’s never a true. Instead of giving me a credit, they were sucking money out of my account every month. When I got the first payment notice, I thought they may have change their mind and charge me for whatever service charge they wanted to claim for. So, I did not pay much of attention to $17.87 taking out of account. My valuable time is more than $17.87 an hour at work. I did not want to make a big deal for it small amount of money. However, there was a second charge amount of $17.87 month after. This did get my attention for me to call to find out. What do you know? The account was never cancelled and they are claiming that I have never called them. They are saying I was making things up. After a long conversation, they found the record of me calling them on August 21, 2006, but no note or any memo was recorded. Is that my fault, there is no note on their system? They need to train their employee better. To make the long story short, there is a recording on their system that I have called them. They are totally scamming people for money without providing any service. Company has no contact information other than $5.00 an hour operator. They are really bad. I want everyone to know before they even consider of switching to Vonage, they need to know what kind of risk they are taking. By the way, I cancelled the service because of drop calls and bad customer service. If phone provider operator calls gets drop five times a day on a land line, what do you expect of their quality on service. No 911 call could be made. Think about it See below for their un-true denial letter..

RE: Customer Name: Hyun (Ken) Kim Date of Complaint: October 27, 2006 Complaint Number: 18006163
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in response to the above referenced complaint received on behalf of Hyun Kim, Vonage account 1004632619. The complaint is in regards to the cancellation of his account without a disconnection fee and a refund for the monthly service fees for September and October of 2006.
I have reviewed the complaint and the notes on the account. Mr. Kim’s account was ordered on August 19, 2006. The account notes indicate that the only contact received from the customer was on October 23, 2006 which is when the customer requested his account to be canceled. At that time Mr. Kim’s account was already beyond its 30 day Money Back Guarantee. I respectfully deny Mr. Kim’s request for a refund of the monthly service fees for September and October of 2006 because the charges were properly levied on his account since he had not canceled the service.
Per our Terms of Service, an account that is disconnected beyond the trial period and within the first year of service is charged a disconnection fee. Following is the section of our Terms of Service pertinent to this fee.
“3.6 Disconnection Fee (Does Not Apply to Business Plus Customers). You will be charged a disconnection fee of $39.99 per voice line if your Service is disconnected for any reason after the Money Back Guarantee period and within the first year following the activation of your Service. “
I respectfully deny Mr. Kim’s request for the disconnection fee to be waived upon the cancellation of his account because the account had not been cancelled during the trial period. Since the cancellation of the account will result in a charge to Mr. Kim’s credit/debit card, please have him contact our Account Management Department to disconnect his account. The department can be reached at 1-VONAGE-HELP (1-866-243-4357) from Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST.
Sincerely,
Maria Montella-Dunn Executive Response Team
