RE: It just cant be me.

When I first move in the home I was told that everything that was broken would be fixed and that the lease agreement was a binding contact between the Tenant and the Land Lord. The first month I lived in the home I did not have a working toilet. It took four weeks to get the toilet fixed. Then I was told that it was my fault by a tampon being flush down the toilet. Then about two weeks later it flooded in my area. I was told that it did not flood and that no water has ever gotten in the house. Well the water came into the house and flooded the den area. I called her and told her that it flooded in the house and was told not to worry about it. This week the air had been going out not cooling the house. I had to threaten to her that I would move for her to fix it. Then her response was that it was my fault for having the air on during the storm and that it the repairs were costly that I would have to pay for them. Then at the end of the week a man was at the house along with her looking at the air condition. He told her that it was a hot wire that burned it out and that it was not my fault. He also said that it had been going on for some time. Then two weeks later the water is not working because her husband said that there was a leak in the pipe and they had to get it fixed for them to get the water bill lowered. When I called the water company some time ago it was said that the bill was over $600 and I would not be able to get the water in my name. Then Mrs. Harris said that to pay her $50 dollars a month for the use of the water. Then also she said that she could keep the yard up for another $25 a month. This totaling the total cost I was paying her $675.00. Then the grass was not being cut, edged and the hedges and weeds were not being done as well. I told her that I did not want him to cut the grass that I had already found someone to cut my grass with a better deal. She refused. Then when I asked her to prorate my rent for all my troubles she became very upset. This is when she told me that she says what the rent is not me. I have consulted a lawyer and I want no one else to be drawn into this with some one of her nature. She had me believing almost that all this was may fault.
