Mail-in Rebate From Envision and Fry's Electronics Store

Mail-in Rebate From Envision and Fry's Electronics Store

To whom it may concern,

This complaint is about a mail-in rebate program run by Envision (manufacturer) and Frys's Electronics (retailer). Here's the full story in details:

Based on an advertisement of Fry's Electronics on the Mercury News dated 2-10-2006, I bought an Envision Flat Panel Display monitor (Model: EN7600). Then, Fry's customer service representative gave me 2 forms for claiming the rebates:

- One for the mail-in rebate of $40.

- And another for the bonus mail-in rebate for $40.

Total rebate amount is $80 as advertised.

Within the same day, 2-10-2006, I filled up those 2 forms and submitted to Envision for the rebates. On 4-2-2206, I received 2 emails from Ensivion saying that:

- They (Envision) only accept one of my claims and will process it.

- The other claim will not be honoured because of duplication.

Then, I came to Fry's Electronics to talk a customer service supervisor, and gave her all documents evidencing what I have mentioned above. Then, she asked me to go home and let her take care of this problem for me. She promised to call me back in a few days, but she did not honor her promise actually.

In May 2006, I called Envision and got a reply that they did not know about such a Bonus Mail-in Rebate in support of Fry’s Electronics on 2-10-2006. A few days later, someone from Fry's Electronics called me saying that Envision will send me 2 checks, each for $40, within 2 months.

As of today 8-8-2006, I had got nothing from Envision. Therefore, I called Fry's Electronics again and a customer service representative said that the manufacturer (Envision) would mail one check for $40 to me within a week. I asked her about the other $40 bonus mail-in rebate, she told me she has no idea on that.

Nearly 6 months have gone since the date I bought the product from Fry's Electronics, I haven't received the rebates as I was told. I wonder if it was a fraudulent or unethical business practice of either Envision as the manufacturer or Fry's Electronics as the retailer. I closely follow up my claims for rebates because I'm doubtful about Fry's Electronic ethical business conducts. Even with close follow-up, I have yet received the rebate amount. What if other consumers who submit claims for rebates without follow-up!

By this note, I hope Complaints.com will make this store public as I do not want other consumers to fall into attractive "mail-in rebate" traps laid by Fry's Electronics and Envision.

Thank you
