Shaw Laminate flooring

Shaw Laminate flooring We remodeled our house four years ago and decided to install laminate flooring in our new family room. We had installed PERGO laminate flooring in our kitchen and it has held up through the dishwasher overflowing and water sitting on the floor all night. Since Home Depot had a special price on the SHAW laminate flooring and we were able to match the flooring already installed, we purchased laminate flooring by Shaw and Home Depot installed it. After a year of having the flooring installed, I noticed that there were bubbles at the seams where the top is separating from the bottom. I contacted Home Depot and asked them to replace the flooring since it carried a 10 year warranty. The Home Depot representative came over and looked at the floor and said they would file a claim with Shaw. I waited a couple of months and checked back, but Home Depot said they hadn't heard from Shaw. This process was repeated over two years. Finally, I was so mad about the lack of response, that I wrote emails to Home Depot and Shaw and made complaints in a flooring store when a salesman asked if I'd like to purchase another Shaw product. Finally, a few months ago, a Shaw representative came over and inspected the floor. He wanted me to give him samples of the flooring to send to Shaw, but I didn't have any spares. He said they might need to take a piece and analyze it and that he might have to return to take a piece of the floor. However, he took pictures and asked if I had mopped the floor. Well, of course, I mopped the floor when it was dirty. But I have never left water standing on the floor and my mop was made for laminate flooring so it doesn't hold much water. Also, I hadn't had any problems mopping the PERGO flooring, so I hadn't expected that the Shaw flooring wouldn't hold up the same. I tried calling the Shaw representative several times to see what the outcome of my claim was and he didn't answer the phone or return any of my calls. I decided to check with Home Depot and they informed me that Shaw wouldn't replace my floor because I had mopped the floor with water. Home Depot did not inform me that water couldn't be on the floors. I guess that having a warranty on a product is meaningless. I will not purchase another Shaw product if this is the type of service that I receive and I will have to think hard about shopping at Home Depot if they don't adequately inform their customers about the product they are selling.
