On Sunday, August 6th I was checking my 15-year-old

son onto a flight departing from San Francisco. When

we went to the ticket counter, the AA representative

there was named Anicia. She asked my son's destination

and I mistakenly told her "Madrid, via Chicago".

After looking up the information for his electronic

ticket, she rolled her eyes and said to me in an

incredibly condescending tone, "You're wrong. It's New

York, NOT Chicago". I simply said, "OK". At that point

and in the same tone of voice she said, "It's not

Chicago. It's says so right on the ticket."

At this point I wasn't sure why she felt the need to

talk to me in that tone of voice, so I told her in a

matter-of-fact fashion, "Fine, but there's no reason

to be rude."

Anicia completely overreacted. She handed me back my

son's documentation and said that she refused to

assist us. I told her I simply wanted to get my son on

a plane. She then took some papers of mine on the

counter and started to put them in the trash. I told

her they were mine, which she clearly knew, and then

she returned them to me.

I had to wait almost 10 minutes before another agent

could assist myself and my son. Anicia clearly needs

some additional training or another position away from

the public. She was surley and rude to me and my son

and completely lost control when I told her there was

no reason to speak to me like that. I was shocked and

embarrassed when she refused to help us.

I fly three or four times a month on business and I

have NEVER been treated that way by anyone.
