On May 17, 2006 Window World of Madison's (WW) salesman, Rick, met us at our new home at 212 Highland... (More) On May 17, 2006 Window World of Madison's (WW) salesman, Rick, met us at our new home at 212 Highland Street, Mount Horeb, WI to sell us new replacement windows. At this meeting we ordered new windows for the entire main floor of our home. Rick offered us one (1) upgrade option, argon gas and extra insulation in windows, to increase energy efficiency. We eagerly accepted the contract at the promise of guaranteed energy efficiency and a lifetime warranty. At this time we paid $2804 via credit card (50% of the amount due) as a down payment. We expected to get new, attractive, energy efficient windows, however what we have received was quite the converse of these expectations.



I was assured that my windows would be complete by July 1, 2006 by the salesman. On 6/27/06 the installers came and installed most of the windows and I gave them a check for the remaining amount due and signed a completion slip after the installer requested. I had also talked to the manager, Lisa, that day since the installers showed up late. At this time, we discussed her sending me an invoice within the next 2 days so that I could withdraw the money from my escrow account for home remodeling. As of 8/31/06, I still have not received this. I was not going to sign this document, but the installer, Jim, told me that this simply means that they are complete for today and everyone knows that the windows are not complete since one set of windows had to be reordered. I had an appointment in the evening and had to leave before the windows were completed so a neighbor came and monitored the installers. On 7/3/06 I stopped payment on the check and immediately called WW to notify them of my complaints. Lisa told me that the installers would return on July 7, 2006 to fix the problems (I can forward you a copy of the list of complaints that I sent to WW if necessary) to my satisfaction. The installers never showed up! Lisa then promised me that she would schedule them for July 22, 2006 and they would complete the installation and fix all of the problems to my satisfaction.
