Whirlpool Duet Washer/Service problems

I have a 3 month old Duet washer which stopped working due to control electronics problems. This happened on a Sunday night. I called Whirlpool service on Monday am and got the name of the only appliance service place in my area that does Whirlpool warranty work. I called and was told that the receptionist would have to speak with the service technician before they scheduled an appointment, and she would call me back later in the day. No call. I called on Tuesday and was told the same thing. No call. On Wednesday, I called Whirlpool to find another service provider. No other provider. Whirlpool called the local service provider, and I was told that they would call me within an hour to schedule an appointment to look at the washer this week. No call. Whirlpool also told me that they would not reimburse me for a service call if I found my own repair company. I'm being held hostage by this company!
