ALIENWARE 51m 7700 Notebook Regretfully purchased a notebook September 05 - so far owned it less than 12 month - however it has gone back for repairs TWICE - Feb06 and May06 On August 11, 06 it broke down again Alienware tech support did not issue shipping label for sending notebook back - when the two drives were inoperative - we had to unscrew the whole thing -) not an easy task without the proper tools) and send drives alone. Friday August 25 new drives came back WITHOUT a very important piece the JUMPER. When in contact with Alienware - tech support suggested to go by one at Radio Schack according to him for under a $1.00 -- we went to 4 different computer stores including COMPUSA to no avail. So an order was placed for the jumper to be sent by Alienware.
August 30 it had not arrived - so we called again after 2 hours wait I spoke to Bernie ID#16329 and he found out Shipping Dept NEVER processed the order #954005 placed on August 25th at 3.29pm He apologized and promised he will expedite a new order #954693 for overnight delivery - Today August 31 still no JUMPER - I have been on the phone now waiting for Bernie for 31 minutes to straighten this situation - since I was told AGAIN order has not been processed.
Needless to say I am an EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER - the quality of the notebook for which we paid $4389.00 never lived to our expectations and the service and attitude of Alienware customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
Just a brief glimpse of today's experience a call that started at 4pm EST First Dennis told me that Bernie was on the phone taking care of my incident and I insisted I wanted to talk to Bernie he told me I would have to wait 20 minutes. I said I would still wait... Somehow he connected me with another supervisor Victor who had to hear the whole story and proceeded to tell me
that "I will just have to wait for the part and that's it" again I insisted I wanted to speak to Bernie now he told me Bernie was at lunch.
We bought this notebook for our son to take to college - the notebook has been more under repair that in good use. Today he went back to college again without a good notebook.
