Home Depot offer confirmation

I received in my email in box, a legal looking document from

"Confirmation Department"

It said, they have been trying to reach me in order to deliver a

$500.00 Home Depot gift card confirmation.

I made a copy of this email and took it down to our local Home Depot.

The manager and assistant manager were not available and an associate

in the customer service dept. said the document looked legal and the

manager would have to OK it. She then said I should call their

Customer care headquarters. I did phone and was told it probably was

a scam and to ignore it.

It seems to me that they should have followed up on this with their

local attorney general, or who ever, and nab the supposed scam

artist. I wonder how many people are taken in by this ruse.
