The ads say, “next day installation”. Right! I purchased blinds for my entire 2nd floor in-law suite including one roman shade for the living room area. I ordered them on Aug. 1st. On the 3rd the measurements were taken and, as I understood it, the blinds were ordered. Not so…on the 7th the installer called back because she forgot to measure one of the windows. That done, the order went in. I was told “about a week to get them”, not one day – (see the * next to the window treatment statement – takes a week). So we waited….and waited….and waited. I called on the 21st and was told they are not in, I’ll call you when I get them, that’s all I can do for you. Called again on the 25th – this time to the home office. Yes! Your blinds were in on the 17th – they’re waiting for the roman shade (maybe they are waiting for some ancient Romans to be resurrected to build it, perhaps). So, I call the installer again – she says, “yes, they’re in”, but she doesn’t want to install them until the shade comes in (probably about the same time they raise the Titanic) because she will only be paid once to come out to the house. But, I say, you live in the area and you will eventually have to do the roman shade, too, so it’s not like it’s extra work, just an extra visit. Nope…can’t do it, sorry, I’ll let you know when it comes in – like, don’t bother me. Now it’s the 29th and I have bare windows and no help at all from Empire. I call JC Penney – guess what? Same blinds, less money and they could have them all up in a 10 days. I’ve worked with Penney before – good job, prompt response. That’s what I get for listening to Empire baloney hype. Avoid these people like the plague. (POST SCRIPT: When I mentioned the Penney deal to the installer, she just laughed and said, “Hey, what can I tell you?”
