Saturday August 26th, 2006 Took my 96 Chevy Monte Carlo in to shop with an "Acceleration Hesitation" problem around 8:30 AM. Was told car would be put on Diagnostic machine to find out what the problem was. Around 10:30 AM received call from shop stating Valve Cover was leaking oil onto the spark plug wires causing the hesitation. Valve Cover gasket, Spark plugs and spark plug wires would need to be replaced to solve problem. Cost for this around $570. Received call around 2:00 PM, work was completed. Picked up car. Drove car for only two hours before "Acceleration Hesitation" problem returned. Returned car to shop. Was told then, that car was test driven for 45 minutes before work was done and for 45 minutes after work was done and that nothing was wrong (Right about now I start to wonder why $570 worth of work was done if nothing was wrong at the initial test drive). Told them I was not paying anymore money and they needed to fix the car. New explanation for problem was catalytic converter, we would have to leave car until Monday August 28th, 2006 because converter would not be availiable til then. Now, I lose one days pay, for not having transpotation to work. Monday comes around, 3:10 PM receive call from shop stating converter is fine, it is the fuel pump that is causing the problem. 5:05 PM receive call from shop, it's not the fuel pump, it's the oil pressure sensor. Now, I have to wait until Tuesday August 29th, 2006 before I find out what the next surprise is from these DUMB ASSES that call themselves Professional Mechanics that seem to be taking "Shots in the Dark" with my car, oh and yes I get to lose another days pay. I can not believe that NASCAR.com recommends them as a professional shop. I would recommend everyone including these mechanics own family members stay away from this shop.
