Please Dear Complaints.com: This is to warn people about the utter frustration they will likely have with Dell, from technical to billing issues. My most recent episode has to do with billing -- My understanding from my Dell Sales Rep, Desari E. Osborn, was that I'd be able to charge my computer to the Dell Preferred Account she was trying to sell me on (18-month-interest-free) and then, each month, make a payment to that Dell bill with my Master Card. My goal was to get what would be the best of both worlds: (a) Stretched-out Dell payments (18 months) by charging upfront to the Dell Preferred Account, plus get (b) Points each month by paying pieces of that Dell bill with my Master Card. I kept asking Desari if I'd be able to charge my Dell payments to my Master Card each month, how would I do that, are there blocks on the Dell statement for charging payments to my Master Card. She repeatedly said "Don't worry, there's a way, it'll all be explained on your Dell bill." WELL, IT WASN'T ALL EXPLAINED ON MY DELL BILL . . . And, in fact, after various sessions with both Dell Financial Services and Dell Customer Care (and I still don't know exactly what dept I was talking to when, only that each kept switching me to the other) they said, bottom line "WE'VE NEVER HAD A METHOD TO CHARGE YOUR DELL PAYMENTS TO ANOTHER CHARGE CARD," and "IT'S TOO LATE TO TRANSFER THE WHOLE BILL OVER (they consider that transfer a "change in the method of payment," which doesn't meet the 1-month decision rule; I bought it July 18, and now it's over the 1 month after that; Aug 23)" and would make no exceptions considering the fact that DESARI LIED THROUGH HER TEETH, whether deliberately or in error. I have had two Dell computers, but I refuse to buy another computer from them in the future. They are a disorganized, irresponsible mess, and if you're smart you'll stay away from them.
