Home Depot Kitchen Rennovation

Totally gutted my kitchen in April 2006 and installed new cabinets, flooring and appliances in June 2006. Only the cabinets came from home Depot. The three corner cabinets were damaged at the factory and had to be replaced 4 times. Each shipment had a cracked frame where the hinges attached. Home Depot and American Woodmark verified that the damages were factory initiated. I showed the pictures to the Kitchen Manager and he said that even though these were damaged at the factory, there is nothing he can do because Home Depot is not installing the cabinets. I have been dealing with Home Depot and American Woodmark for 2 months now regarding resolution. I finally received cabinets good enough for stability. I called store manager 4 times and never got a response. I left word 2 times for the district manager to call and never got a response. I called the Corporate (I don’t) Care Center and got a very rude person on the line. Dissatisfied, I called the Corporate Support Center and got someone who seemed willing to help. Back in July, they said I had compensation for $750. Over the course of a few weeks, I called them back about 20 times and never got a response. At this point, I returned everything I could to “Devil” Depot, lights, disposal, tile, caulk, faucet, etc. Even if it was already installed, I uninstalled it, returned it and re-purchased it from Lowes. I sent a letter to the CEO with an 11-page journal and 8-pages of pictures requesting compensation. A very angry person called on behalf of the CEO who was so adamant and focused in telling me over and over that Home Depot would not provide any additional compensation. I could barely get a word in. He said, American Woodmark refunded $700 to be applied to my card (first I knew of that). I told him there was another $750 that was approved in July. He tried to tell me that these were the same monies, but he will go ahead an give me $750 instead of $700. I tried to tell this CEO rep that these had to be different monies since Home Depot compensated in July and American Woodmark refunded in August. He got angrier and I hung up. I called American Woodmark and verified that they did not even discuss the $700 until August 14 and there is no way these can be the same refund. Again I called the CEO representative and told him Home Depot was fabricating documentation so they will not have to compensate me. He was still angry and adamant that there will be no further compensation. I asked about all the frustration, eating out for 2 additional months, no return calls, etc. He said Home Depot did nothing wrong. He had the nerve to tell me there are 2 sides to every story and he does not believe a lot of this happened. I told him I would contact a friend that does the CNN news and he said, like a kid, “ go ahead and contact your little media guy”. He then started falsely repeating things that I never said. As I tried to deny his false comments and remind him that not only are the sequence of dates illogical, the amounts in question are different, we ended up yelling at each other. He said that American Woodmark will have to contact the Norfolk store to resolve this. The American Woodmark Regional Manager is not happy with Home Depot and will try to resolve this with the store manager since he (A.W.) also agrees that there are two different amounts being compensated ($750 and $700). I wonder if CEO Robert Nardelli knows that someone speaking on his behalf has this type of behavior.
