Outdoorsman Edge Book Club

On June 16, 2006 I mailed a check in the amount of $60.75 to pay off my account with this book club. Today my husband received a nasty and belittling phone call from RMCB, Retrieval Masters Credit Bureau I think, (a collection agency this bookclub uses) stating we owed $180 to Outdoorsman Edge Book Club. Apparently this appears to be normal business procedure for RMCB. I contacted the Book Club Services at 717-918-2665 and after several minutes on hold I finally reached a live being. This person advised that our account had a zero balance. I WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. APPARENTLY THIS COMPANY BADGERS AND THREATENS YOU TO PAY AN AMOUNT YOU DON'T OWE JUST TO GET RID OF THEM. I know I will never, ever join another bookclub, especially Outdoorsman Edge. From now on I'll just use Joseph Beth or Barnes & Noble.

I wonder how this company would feel if I called and threatened them. My luck would be I would get arrested and charged with terroristic threatening. Funny how business works isn't it -- they threaten me and its called their job. What a crappy job.
