We highly recommend to anyone considering building a house to not use this company as their contractor. We have resorted to this since they refuse to have any contact with us in resolving our complaints.

We have had problems with every aspect of building our house. From the moment we signed the contract on 10-31-05 until we closed on 3-15-06. These problems still have not been resolved. Below, we have listed only a few of the items in our complaint to them.

Selling practices – Verbal conversations then turn out to be false because they were not in writing. For example, time to complete house, quotes on upgrades and changes to name a few.

Delivery Issues – Time to complete was always verbal at one year. The problem is they do not tell you from what date the year begins. In our case, it was a year from when the permits were pulled in March 2005. That was 4.5 months after we signed the contract.

Product Quality – Some workmanship is questionable. Our sidewalk was damaged by sub contractors after we told Today Homes we had a corner lot and to use the side as an entrance. The sidewalk had to be replaced by us, when they did not follow our instructions. Their excuse was, it was not in writing.

Repair Issues – At closing, Today Homes agreed to resolve a list of incomplete construction or repairs. We received 2 responses and 1 repair by a subcontractor. And, that one repair was 4 months after closing.

Refund Practices – We were to receive a refund check due to an overpayment 3 business days after closing on March 15, 2006. As of today, the refund has not been received.

Customer Service - This company has the worst customer service we have encountered in a long time. We have been spoken to rudely and condescendingly. They will not return calls or emails, during construction or after construction. We had even tried to reach the owner at one point, to be told by the receptionist he is not available to us. A few of the sub contractors said that if you make any waves, the owner will cancel your contract and you will have to find someone else to finish it. At that point, we were afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation.

Each person we have spoken to that contracted with Today Homes, has been unhappy. We have found that the same issues we have are in common with these people. The Better Business Bureau lists this company as having 27 complaints in the last 36 months and 12 within the last 13 months. Of the 27, 10 have been resolved.
